DANVILLE — The highlight of Monday’s meeting of the Danville school board was a presentation by senior student Kimberly Hansen. She attended a summer honors institute in performance theater at Wright State University and talked with the board about her experiences.
Hansen said she got to learn many college-level things from the Wright State professor which she will share with the Danville drama club; acting basics, movement, how to warm up properly, facial expressions, improvisation and stage makeup. One of the most valuable lessons, Hansen said, was learning how to “become the character.” The culmination of the performance institute was a short play the class performed at the end of the week.
Other guests at the meeting included Knox County Career Center superintendent Bernie Pachmayer and its director Robert Kirk. They talked about the career center and its programs, and asked the board if there were any questions or concerns they wished to share.
