DANVILLE — Danville Village Council decided to stay with the original plan of having a fall cleanup day.
The village had been approached by members of Union Township about switching back to just one time a year. The two entities share the costs associated with the spring and fall cleanup days.
The village loses money hosting the event, but council members felt the cost was nothing compared to what it gave village residents. They also felt the short notice was not enough to cancel this fall’s event. In the future, if they were to decide to go back to just one event, they will be sure to give plenty of notice to village and township residents.
The fall cleanup day will be either Oct. 13 or 20.
