MOUNT VERNON — Officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced last week that three area scholars — Daniel Schuster, Miranda Huang and Casey Long — are semifinalists in the 58th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Schuster, the son of Alice and Kurt Schuster, attends Centerburg High School. His activities include cross country, Quiz Bowl, Robotics and Summer Honors Institute. Although undecided on a college, Schuster plans to pursue a career in engineering.
Huang and Long have both earned academic letters at Mount Vernon High School.
