MOUNT VERNON — The ACT is one of the nationwide tests used to measure a student’s skills considered necessary to succeed in college. It tests students on English, reading, math and science skills. Ohio students taking the 2012 ACT scored well compared to students nationwide, and ACT officials recognized Ohio as one of several states that is making a major push to improve math and science education.
