MOUNT VERNON — Knox County high school senior girls attended an orientation meeting Monday evening for the 2013 Knox County Distinguished Young Women program. They heard an outline of the program by President Doug Clark and watched a slide show from the 2012 program.
Rehearsals start Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Memorial Theater and will last until 5 p.m. The Sunday rehearsals will last five weeks. The week before the program will see rehearsals each night. The two-night program is Nov. 16 and 17. Curtain time both nights is 8 p.m.
Two girls will be chosen, one from Mount Vernon High School as Central Knox County DYW and the other from one of the Knox County high schools, as Greater Knox County DYW, to participate in the 2013 Ohio Distinguished Young Women program in Mount Vernon in February.
Stepping down are the 2011 Central Knox County DYW Lauren Butterfield from Mount Vernon High School and Greater Knox County DYW Kathryn Hebenthal, Centerburg High School.
