According to Knox County Sheriff David Barber, Deputy Ronald Alan Hackman, 27, has been promoted to second shift sergeant in the jail.

Hackman, of Mount Vernon, joined the KCSO five years ago when he was assigned to the jail division, where he serves as a field training officer.

A graduate of Mount Vernon High School and the Knox County Career Center, Hackman worked as a security and safety officer at Mount Vernon Nazarene University for three years.

Barber said Hackman will be a welcome addition to the jail’s supervisory staff.
