CONDIT — Three individuals were arrested for aggravated robbery on Saturday following a pursuit involving seven law enforcement departments which ended just southwest of the Knox-Delaware county line.
The Delaware City Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call at 3:22 p.m. when a 66-year-old woman reported she was robbed by three young men who approached her inside her garage. Delaware Police officers recognized a vehicle and the three men from the woman’s description and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled, and a pursuit followed on U.S. 36 east, past Sunbury until the vehicle pulled off the roadway on Locust Road, just southwest of Knox County. The suspects ran into a cornfield and were eventually apprehended. Assisting in the pursuit were the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Genoa Township Police Department, Sunbury Police Department, New Albany Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Columbus Police aviation unit.
Delaware Police Captain Adam Moore told the News the weapon used in the robbery turned out to be an Airsoft gun which looks much like a real firearm but shoots plastic pellets.
Arrested were Paul Bradford, 19, Columbus, who was taken to the Delaware County Jail. He is expected to appear before a Delaware County grand jury for additional charges. Also arrested were Devontay Stanton, 15, and Victor Trent, 14, both of Columbus, who were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Marysville.
