GAMBIER — Generating some momentum for the Republican Party in the Gambier area was the purpose of a party meeting Monday evening at the Gambier Community Center.
Organized by Nancy Ingling and Nancy Wainwright, the event brought together local Republicans from the Gambier area for an evening of information and questions prior to the all-important upcoming election on Nov. 6.
Information about the visitors to the evening’s forum was gathered, “So if we want to do this again, or if people are interested in just talking about whether we want to have sort of a loosely formed organization that can invite a special speaker once in a while, then we’ll do it,” said Ingling.
She stressed that the point of the meeting was “To learn more about the election and to reassure us that there really are Republicans in this area (Gambier), and to encourage everybody to get involved in whatever way you can.”
Putting up yard signs, offering rides to the polling places or volunteering at the Republican headquarters are ways mentioned that residents can help out with the campaign.
