MOUNT VERNON — While a large crowd gathered inside Ariel Corp. to hear presidential candidate Mitt Romney, a number of people, a few with Romney-Ryan signs, waited outside to show support for the candidate.

The gathering did not represent any one group and they agreed among themselves that they were just “concerned citizens.”

“I’m here to support Gov. Romney and Paul Ryan because of the state of the economy.” stated Larry Holland. “We want to return America to a constitutional government.”

“We want a president who works instead of plays. This is the most important time of our lives,” said Terry Vance.

As the group waited in the chill of the late morning, Camille Compton-Solie added, “We need a strong leader in our country who will lead us back to the foundation of what made America what it is.”

Each person seemed to have something that drew them to the Romney camp.

Sandy Rhoton said she was there because she believes in life and traditional marriage. And Jeff Bing said he wanted less interference
