MOUNT VERNON — A revision of the Knox County Local Emergency Planning Committee Constitution and Bylaws topped the meeting of the LEPC Wednesday. The committee also discussed two subcommittees related to the Chemical Emergency Response and Preparedness Plan and the contract between LEPC and the Knox Emergency Management Agency.
EMA Director Mark Maxwell said that in going through the agency records since his appointment at the beginning of August, he found that the last update of the LEPC Constitution apparently took place in 1989. Therefore, he has gone through the constitution and updated it with all the changes in the Ohio Revised Code that have occurred since that time.
