MOUNT VERNON — The Ohio Department of Transportation continues to work on the following projects in Knox County.
Project 176(12) — Widen U.S. 36 (Coshocton Avenue), in the city of Mount Vernon, between the junctions of U.S. 36/Sychar Road and U.S. 36/Ohio 768. One lane will be maintained in each direction, at all times, with minor lane restrictions. Driveway approaches will be replaced at various locations throughout the duration of the project. Message boards are in place alerting motorists of this work. The project completion date is Nov. 15.
Project 8028 (12) — Perform pavement repairs and place guardrail on U.S. 13, approximately two miles north of Mount Vernon. The roadway shoulder is presently closed. The project completion date is Dec. 15.
Project 513 (12) — Perform a safety upgrade on Ohio 229, approximately 1/2 mile east of the Morrow County line, between Braddock Road and Dunham Road. Ohio 229 will reopen by 5 p.m., today.
The posted detour is via Ohio 314 and U.S. 36, adding approximately 26 miles to a motorists’ commute.
The project completion date is Nov. 15.
