MOUNT VERNON -- An update on construction of the various features at the new wastewater plant site in Howard was given Thursday morning when Knox County water/wastewater superintendent Ray Withers met with the Knox County Commissioners.
DANVILLE -- Construction is expected to start Oct. 29, on a storm sewer and sidewalk project along East Main Street in Danville.
Al Gore won the popular vote for president in 2000, but George W. Bush won the election. Samuel Tilden won the popular vote in 1876, but Rutherford B. Hayes was elected. In both cases, the loser of the popular vote won by getting a majority of the electoral votes.

Report of babies born at hospitals other than Knox Community Hospital must be submitted in writing. Include parents’ names, address, age, baby’s sex, and date and place of birth. If either parent is under the age of 18, the signature of a parent or guardian is necessary for each of the baby’s underage parents.
