MOUNT VERNON — Helping the community just got a whole lot easier for one local organization. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Thursday afternoon to officially open the new warehouse facility for HopeNow at 1025 S. Main St. Invitations were extended to donors and business sponsors to attend the ceremony where words of thanks were heard from members of the organization.
Formerly used as a warehouse by Connell’s Furniture and currently owned by the Ariel Corp., HopeNow will have use of the facility rent free, only having to pay for electricity. Grants have also been provided by The Community Foundation of Mount Vernon and Knox County to provide use of a hauling truck, forklift, and shelving and other needs at the warehouse.
