MOUNT VERNON — As some projects in the city wind down, officials are already looking ahead to projects planned in 2013, Mayor Richard Mavis reported at his weekly press briefing Friday.
The Coshocton Road project is down to “odd and ends” reported City Engineer Cameron Keaton. There are still some signs to go up to match the new striping, some old signs are still to be removed and detection loops were being installed Friday at the intersections of Vernon View Drive and the hospital.
The “No Left Turn” signs at Center Drive are to be removed and he has already ordered the sign on the curb to be covered.
The “right in, right out” curbs have been painted yellow.
Keaton also reported the $5.3 million upgrade of the city sewage treatment plant is almost done. Work on the project has taken almost a year and a half.
