MOUNT VERNON — Sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to helping small businesses and their communities. The Mount Vernon small business community is proud to take part in Small Business Saturday, also called, “Shop Small Saturday.”

“Everyone is encouraged to come out and support locally owned and operated businesses by shopping, especially for those unique holiday gift items,” said downtown manager Carrie Crouch. “There are so many wonderful businesses and people to get to know in our town. Consumers will enjoy top-notch customer service, friendly store staff and a one-of-a-kind holiday environment.”

This national movement, initiated by American Express, brought more than one million people together last year to shop small in their communities. Everyone can help spread the word about Small Business Saturday. The more people and businesses get involved, the bigger and more beneficial the day will be.
