MOUNT VERNON — The 2012 Christmas Parade was a hit and spectators were awed by the wide variety of groups and floats that made up the list of 84 entries. The parade included vintage vehicles, dogs, llamas, horses, floats, marching bands, Ronald McDonald, and of course, Santa Claus.

The chill in the air didn’t deter visitors and residents from choosing a place downtown to watch the Christmas parade. Triplets Marlee, Shelby and Jackson Dugas, 17 months, got a visit from Rudolph as they waited with their parents Lee and Alicia Dugas of Apple Valley for the parade to begin.

First-Knox National Bank won the Dan Emmett Best Overall winning trophy with a float complete with vintage car and 45 RPM records. The award was sponsored by First-Knox National Bank.
