MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Renaissance Foundation opened the doors to the renovated Odd Fellows building during the Christmas Walk on Sunday. Since the renovations were completed on the third floor, the foundation is offering the space for business and social rentals.
Tom Fish, president of the Knox County Renaissance Foundation explained that the foundation purchased the building in 2009. With the help of grants from the Ariel Foundation and the Knox County Community Foundation, much of the renovation has been completed.
“It [the roof] leaked so badly that water ran down onto the second floor,” stated Fish.
Director Jeff Gottke said that now that the third floor is completed, the foundation would like to rent the hall for events like graduations, receptions and business meetings. Internet access and audio visual aids are available, and eventually the kitchen and dining room will also be renovated.
