UTICA — An annual tradition will once again be renewed when the Christmas Walk on Main will take place in downtown Utica on Wednesday. “Candy Cane Lane” will be the theme of this year’s event which begins at 6 p.m. when Santa Claus will arrive on a fire truck, escorted by the high school marching band and the girls basketball team.

Following his entrance to the village, Santa will greet youngsters and take their Christmas wishes. Photos with Santa will be offered. A scavenger hunt will highlight the walk once again this year, where numerous prizes will be awarded by local businesses. Visitors to the walk can stop by the many sidewalk displays or inside the participating businesses to sample their offerings of cookies, cider, hot chocolate and other tempting goodies.

Holiday music will be provided by ensembles from the high school marching band and choir.

The Christmas Walk annually brings out a large number of residents in an effort to promote local business and to give everyone the chance to enjoy the holiday spirit with friends from the community.
