DANVILLE — Danville Village Council made some final preparations for 2013 at its meeting Monday.
Council members approved ordinances involving wages and temporary appropriations, as well as a resolution to contract for engineering services.
After a half-hour executive session, council members voted to add the village solicitor as a village employee and set the salary at $100 per hour plus PERS. The solicitor position had been a contracted position, but will now be part of the village’s regular employees. That will allow the position to receive retirement benefits through PERS.
Council also approved temporary appropriations, which will enable the village to operate through February until council sets the budget for 2013. Council also adopted a resolution allowing the village to contract with Bird and Bull for engineering services.
