CENTERBURG — Year-end business dominated the agenda Monday evening as the Centerburg Village Council held its final regular meeting of 2012. It was the council’s first session since November’s general election, and the members and village staff expressed appreciation to voters who approved tax levies for the Central Ohio Joint Fire District and the Centerburg Local Schools.
Third readings were heard on ordinances covering 2013 village appropriations, 2013 employee compensation, and continuation of professional services from Bird and Bull Engineers related to the new wastewater reclamation facility project. Council also approved amendments to 2012 budget year appropriations to reflect purchase of water meters and higher-than-anticipated utility costs.
Village Solicitor Kyle Stroh reported that with all details finalized and council approval, the 2013 agreement with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office for police protection is being readied for signatures.
