MOUNT VERNON —Someone looking for a bargain in a late-model heavy duty pickup truck should go to the auction in front of City Hall Saturday. At noon, a 2010 Ford F350 Superduty truck restored by the Automotive Technologies classes at Knox County Career Center will be auctioned to raise money for Food for the Hungry. Bids will also be taken by telephone.
The restoration work is being done by the students in Tim Hall’s Collision Repair class and Don McDaniel’s AutoTech class.
They began working before Thanksgiving and students have volunteered to work after school and on weekends to get the truck ready.
“They’ve really gotten into the fact that it’s not just a class project; it’s helping people,” Hall said.
