UTICA — Monday’s meeting of the North Fork Board of Education was largely routine, Treasurer Jack McDonald reported to the News on Tuesday.
Following an executive session to discuss personnel, the board changed the effective date of McDonald’s retirement from Dec. 31, 2012, to May 31, 2013. It also employed Tonya Mickley as assistant treasurer, effective Jan. 2 through May 31. McDonald said that will give him time to complete some major projects and to train Mickley in the district’s procedures and fiscal processes. Mickley will then take over as treasurer effective June 1.
Also related to personnel, the board approved a number of supplemental positions for the baseball and track, accepted Mike Krehlik and Matthew Wood as volunteers, employed Loretta Reynolds as a bus driver and added to the classified and certified substitute lists.
Routine fiscal actions were taken and the board set Monday, Jan. 14, as the date of its 2013 organizational meeting. It will begin in the high school at 7 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the regular January meeting.
