UTICA — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place in Utica early Saturday morning.

According to Capt. David Shaffer, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Paul Swetnam Sr., shot his son, Paul Swetnam Jr., after the younger Swetnam broke into his father’s house and threatened him.

Utica EMS responded to the call and transported the injured man to an undisclosed hospital. Shaffer said he was shot in the abdomen area.

A message was left with the Utica EMS requesting further medical details.
