Issue 1 asks if there should be a convention to revise, alter or amend the Ohio Constitution?

The issue arises from Article XVI, Section 3 of the Constitution of the state of Ohio, which asks every 20 years if the electors would like to alter or amend the constitution of the state.

If the issue passes by a majority vote, the General Assembly shall assemble such convention.
