MOUNT VERNON — A potentially buggy situation was averted Friday due to the quick action by a Knox Area Transit bus driver.
KAT director Hillary Patterson told the News one of the drivers reported that, in a casual conversation, a rider said, “Well, now we have bed bugs at our house.”
The driver took the vehicle back to the KAT parking lot, Patterson said, and parked it.
“We had some bed bug spray purchased at GR Smith and we fumigated the bus as a precautionary measure,” said Patterson. “The bus will be out of service for the next three days, just as a precaution. We didn’t see any bugs on the bus. Now there won’t be any.”
