CENTERBURG — Centerburg Village Council held its first meeting of 2013 Monday evening, and its first order of business was to re-elect Dave Beck as council president. The balance of council is also unchanged, with Saundra Dove, Jerry Hess, Ed Miller, Susan Oswalt and Ronda Seligman continuing to serve.
Mayor Diana Stockmaster announced the composition of 2013 committees and representatives to deal with Administrative Services, Central Ohio Joint Fire District, Public Safety, Public Service, Records, Shade Trees, Tax Review, and Village and Regional Planning.
The mayor also commended the village staff for its speedy response to the recent snowstorm, and issued a reminder to residents and businesses that they have an obligation to clear sidewalks in front of their properties. Residents are encouraged to assist their aged and disabled neighbors with this task.
A complaint was received from a resident about a company that solicited for driveway coating and resurfacing business but did not meet its obligations. Residents are reminded that solicitation is illegal unless the company or individual has registered with the village. If in doubt, it is recommended that solicitors be asked to produce documentation of their registration. Alternatively, residents can call the village office for confirmation.
