According to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher, sixteen indictment were returned yesterday by the Knox County Grand Jury. Arraignment hearings in the cases are scheduled for January 18 before Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster.
MOUNT VERNON -- Mount Vernon has a new law director. Former Knox County assistant prosecutor Charles "Chip"McConville took the oath of office this morning in Mount Vernon's Municipal Courtroom and replaces former law director William Smith, who retired.

COLUMBUS -- State Representative Margaret Ann Ruhl was sworn in as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 130th General Assembly on Monday.
MOUNT VERNON -- A high school boys basketball game Wednesday featured an undefeated, but fledgling team from Mount Vernon, going down to defeat at the hands of their long-established crosstown rival, 76-63.
