DANVILLE — The Saturday morning meeting of the Danville Board of Education was largely routine, Treasurer Mary Payne told the News on Monday.

The board approved routine annual actions and authorizations and elected new officers. Brent Kaylor is the board president for 2013 and Darrel Severns will act as vice president. Kaylor will also serve as legislative liaison, Carolyn Addair remains the Knox County Career Center representative and Andrea Inverso will again be the student liaison.

Besides approving routine fiscal actions, the board accepted a $2,500 donation to Danville FFA from Carol Didinger, renewed membership in the Ohio School Boards Association and Metropolitan Education Council. Through MEC, Payne said, the district receives discounts on electricity, dairy and bread products and various school supplies.
