MOUNT VERNON — A city employee made a pitch to Mount Vernon City Council on Monday night for a pay raise much higher than the 23-cent-an-hour raise proposed in legislation.
Larry Fogle addressed council and said he made a request to city administration in November to “correct a long-standing inequity. ... You may see it as part-time, but I am here eight hours a day whenever City Hall is open and operating.”
Fogle serves the city as code enforcement officer and as parking enforcement officer, both in a part-time capacity.
“I see myself as a full-time employee but not seeking benefits,” Fogle said.
