MOUNT VERNON -- A verdict is expected later this week in the trial of Joshua E. Heagren, 25, of Green Valley Road, on endangering children and negligent homicide charges in the Memorial Day death of his son, Lucas, 3.

HOWARD -- The East Knox school board on Monday voted to place a combination school tax levy on the May ballot.
UTICA -- At a special meeting on Monday, the North Fork Board of Education voted to place the renewal of the 1 percent school income tax levy on the May ballot.
MOUNT VERNON -- Ninety Mount Vernon High School music students participated in the Ohio Music Education Association Solo and Ensemble held at Granville High School on Jan. 26.
