FREDERICKTOWN — Numbers are on the rise at the Fredericktown Senior Activity Center as an increased number of citizens appear to be taking advantage of the activities offered at the local center. “More and more people seem to be coming out,” SAC assistant Shirley Orsborn told the News. “This place was pretty full at lunch time today.”
The Fredericktown Seniors organization was started in 2008 and currently meets at the Senior Activity Center in two rooms inside the old high school at 117 Columbus Road, occupied also by the Fredericktown Schools Board of Education.
The Fredericktown Seniors formerly were joined with the Fredericktown Parks and Recreation District as a way of receiving funding. They now have their own 501(c)3 status which allows them to receive funds as a nonprofit organization
