On Jan. 26, lift operator Carla Weatherby was injured by a lift chair during a shift change. MedFlight was dispatched to the resort at around 6 p.m. and Weatherby was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for a reported back injury. She is currently registered in the Intensive Care Unit.

General Operations Manager Kelly Donaldson would not comment on the incident. When ask about Weatherby’s condition, she said, “It is her family’s story to tell.”

Weatherby had surgery Wednesday and a nurse administrator reported afterward that Weathery was in serious condition.

OSHA Area Director Kim Nelson explained that the OSHA initiates investigations as a result of program inspections, complaints about hazards, internal referrals as from safety inspectors, medial referrals, or catastrophes involving three or more people or fatalities.
