The inspection was completed in cooperation between the Mount Vernon Fire Department, the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Knox County Health Department.

Fire Chief Chris Menapace said some of the violations have “potential for loss of life or property,” rendering the decision to leave the facility closed until all code violations have been corrected and compliance is made with the Ohio Fire Code.

Closure includes the parking garage, Menapace said.
