MOUNT VERNON — According to Mount Vernon Police Department reports, a laptop computer and a cell phone were taken from a room at the Curtis Inn sometime between Feb. 7 and Feb. 12.
While performing a security check of the hotel, a patrol officer noticed the room where heroin residue and pills were found Feb. 8, had been broken into.
On the Feb. 8, the door to the room had been sealed with red evidence tape over the door knob, deadbolt, the window and the door frame.
“When I checked the room on this date (Feb. 12), I immediately noticed the tape that was stuck to the door and door frame was broken,” the officer reported.
Change that had been on a table was also reported missing.
