MOUNT VERNON — Bond was set for Jedidiah Lang and Amber Pilotti in Knox County Court of Common Pleas this morning as both appeared for arraignment on two counts of aggravated arson. Lang and Pilotti were indicted Feb. 18 by a Knox County Grand Jury on felony arson charges following a house fire at 209 Shirley Ave.
Represented by attorney Jay Nixon, Pilotti pleaded not guilty to the first- and second-degree felonies. Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher recommended a $250,000 cash bond be set without a 10 percent provision, based on the fact Pilotti has one previous misdemeanor on a domestic violence charge.
Judge Otho Eyster set bond for Pilotti at $100,000 with no 10 percent provision.
Represented by Brandon Crunkilton of the Knox County Public Defender’s Office, Lang also entered pleas of not guilty to both felony counts.
Thatcher recommended bail be set at $500,000 due to Lang previously being sentenced for involuntary manslaughter. He had also been serving jail time for a probation violation on charges of domestic violence.
Judge Eyster set bond for Lang at $250,000 with no 10 percent provision.
A date for their trials will be set at a later time.
