MOUNT VERNON — The United Way of Knox County board met Tuesday at the Knox County Chamber of Commerce and elected new officers for 2013. They also recognized new board members.
The new members to the board are David Bilenko, Phyllis Colopy, Mike Hebenthal, Bill Levering, Jane Marlow, Pam Rose, Prema Samhat and Dr. Henry Spaulding.
Board members are donors and volunteers representing various sectors of the community including diverse demographics and locations. They serve a maximum of two three-year terms.
New officers were elected at the meeting. Steve Oster, superintendent of Knox County Developmental Disabilities, was elected president; and Mark Bennett, vice president of sales and marketing at Brenneman Lumber Co. was elected vice president. Lisa Schott, managing director of the Philander Chase Corporation and senior development officer at Kenyon College, was named second vice president.
