MOUNT VERNON — The annual Knox County Sheep Improvement Committee’s Dinner Meeting will be held March 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, and it is open to the public. Guests will be able to enjoy a dinner that features local lamb.
“Knox County has been, and remains, the largest sheep producing county in Ohio,” stated Roger High, executive director of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association.
Knox County lamb was served at George W. Bush’s presidential inaugural dinner in 2001 and at the 2002 Winter Olympics. On March 4, local residents have an opportunity to have lamb for dinner as well.
