MOUNT VERNON -- Expansion will soon be taking place with Peoples Bank of Gambier as a new branch office is planned to be opened at 1051 Newark Road, just south of Lanning's Foods, said Peoples Bank President Paul Wreede.

MOUNT VERNON -- The Ohio Supreme Court is set to hear the case Wednesday between former Mount Vernon teacher John Freshwater and the Mount Vernon Board of Education over Freshwater's firing two years ago.
