DANVILLE — The Danville Village Police Department is trying to get some help updating its equipment.
According to Village Clerk Laurie Vess, Police Committee Chairman Joe Mazzari reported at the village council meeting Monday the DPD is applying for two grants. The first is a $2,340 grant that would enable the village to purchase a new computer for a cruiser. The village would have to pay $260 in matching funds if the grant were awarded.
The second grant is to purchase a 2013 Ford utility police interceptor. The grant would pay for $30,000 of the $41,000 cost for the interceptor.
Council also approved going after an Ohio Department of Natural Resources grant for $2,500 for fencing and to finish paving the new parking lot west of the football field.
