MOUNT GILEAD — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Coby Holloway at the Mount Gilead post, which includes Knox County, has been selected as Trooper of the Year for 2012 of the patrol’s District 6. The district has eight patrol posts in 10 counties.
Holloway, 33, was selected for his leadership, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public. He earned the award from the Mount Gilead post and then was nominated by a panel of Columbus District Commanders for the District 6 Trooper of the Year.
He graduated from the patrol academy in 2005 and has served at the Mount Gilead post since. He earned an associate degree in criminal justice from North Central State College. Previously, Holloway has been recognized as the 2009 Mount Gilead post Trooper of the Year and has been recognized for a physical fitness award and safe driving ribbon. He resides with his wife, Tammy, in the Galion area.
