MOUNT VERNON — The Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association hosted its first Annual Celebration in Mount Vernon on Tuesday at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County. The informational session and lunch also featured the presentation of awards to a number of corporate sponsors and the three top teams from the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Sally Bolin, the chapter’s executive director, explained the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission and resources. The vision of the association is to have a world without Alzheimer’s.
“This has always been our vision,” she stated. “Really, what we’d like to do is end this disease at some point in time.”
The 2012 walk was the first to be held in Mount Vernon. A total of $33,953 was raised: $16,953 by corporate sponsors and $16,953 by team donations.
