MOUNT VERNON — Sentences were handed down today in three felony cases by Knox County Court of Common Pleas Judge Otho Eyster.
According to Prosecutor John Thatcher, Tyler A. Shaw, 22, Mount Vernon, was convicted of Receiving Stolen Property and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Shaw was sentenced to 15 months in prison. Thatcher said on July 15, 2012 at about 2:00 a.m., Shaw was arrested by Mount Vernon Police Officers Kyle Theibert and Matt Jones for possessing a stolen 9 mm handgun hidden in the waistband of his pants.
Two sex offenders were convicted of Failing to Provide Change of Address Notification. Joshua Z. Senter, 23, Centerburg, was sentenced to 11 months in prison for failing to notify the Knox County Sheriff‚’s Office that he left his last registered address. Samuel R. Davis, 23, Mount Vernon, was also sentenced to 11 months in prison for failing to notify the Sheriff’s Office that he left his last registered address. Thatcher said both sex offenders were found to be out of compliance during, “Operation Autumn Sweep” conducted by the Knox County Sheriff‚’s Office, on October 9.
