MOUNT VERNON — A nationwide warrant was issued Tuesday for Jamie S. Cremeans of Mount Vernon and he remains at large as of late Friday afternoon.
Cremeans, 42, faces multiple charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and corrupting another with drugs involving four 12- and 13-year-old Mount Vernon girls. He was indicted on eight counts, including four counts of corrupting another with drugs, by a Knox County Grand Jury on Monday.
Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher said Cremeans allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with one of the girls when she was only 7 years old. Cremeans allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with another 13-year-old girl in October 2012.
Cremeans is also accused of giving marijuana and methamphetamine to the 13-year-old girl he allegedly sexually assaulted, and two other 13-year-old girls in October.
Cremeans last known address was 501 E. Vine St., Mount Vernon.
“I do not know the entire situation, but I don’t think he’ll be difficult to find. He’s just not at the address given,” said Thatcher. “I have no reason to believe he is out of the area.
“We’re just waiting on him to be arrested, then we’ll have a bond hearing the next day a judge is available.”
He served a 90-day sentence in 2010 for burglary and breaking and entering charges.
