MOUNT VERNON — Friday morning, units from the Mount Vernon Police Department assisted the Southern District of Ohio’s U.S. Marshal’s office in apprehending a suspect at 15 Marion St., Mount Vernon.
According to Supervisory Director Drew Shadwick of the Southern District office, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team performed a routine fugitive investigation and a man was taken into custody.
Shadwick could not report on the nature of the investigation or the identify of the man who was arrested.
He did say, “The public has nothing to be concerned about. They [residents] were not in any danger.”
SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement organization under federal jurisdiction that apprehends fugitives in the southern Ohio district.
MOUNT VERNON — A Baltimore, Ohio man was arrested in Knox County on Wednesday and was extradited to Virginia to face grand theft felony charges.
Bryan C. Carr, 29, was picked up in Knox County on a bench warrant issued against him from Wise County, Virginia.
He waived extradition, bond was set at $10,000 cash with no provision and he will be returned to Virginia to face the charges.
