MOUNT VERNON -- The Knox County Republican Party Central Committee's Diane Holley was named Republican of the Year Wednesday night at the party's annual dinner where Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor was the guest speaker.

HOWARD -- Approximately 65 community members turned out Wednesday to listen to and participate in the East Knox school board's discussion about possibly arming staff members to minimize the danger to students should an active shooter gain access to a school building, as is the cases at Columbine and Sandy Hook.
HOWARD -- At its meeting on Wednesday, upon the recommendation of the technology committee, the East Knox school board approved a 4-year lease with option to purchase for more than 1,000 Apple iPads for students and staff.

Report of babies born at hospitals other than Knox Community Hospital must be submitted in writing. Include parents’ names, address, age, baby’s sex, and date and place of birth. If either parent is under the age of 18, the signature of a parent or guardian is necessary for each of the baby’s underage parents.
