MOUNT VERNON — The assistant dean of men for the Mount Vernon Academy is incarcerated in the Knox County Jail on charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor and pandering sexually oriented materials involving a minor.

Bond was set Friday for Michael A. Smith, 36, at $25,000 cash with no 10 percent provision by Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge Paul Spurgeon.

No further details of the charges were available at press time.
