DANVILLE — The Danville school board on Monday renewed the contract of superintendent Dan Harper and, at his request, reduced his annual salary by $14,000. His new two-year contract will be at a salary of $81,000 per year.
Harper gave no public explanation for his actions, but did say the board will have to seriously look at operating costs and tighten the district’s belt over the next two years. “The state’s not going to help us,” he said.
