GAMBIER — Selected on Sunday as the next president of Kenyon College, Dr. Sean Decatur took time out of his schedule on Monday to talk with the News.
He is excited about taking over the reins at Kenyon.
“I’m a native Ohioan,” he said. “I feel a strong connection to Kenyon, not only because of its strengths as an academic institution but as one of the outstanding educational institutions in Ohio. That identity of Kenyon as an Ohio institution is something that is very important to me.
“I think the academic program is absolutely wonderful — with the strengths of the faculty, its national recognition for a storing academic program, the students it attracts from all over the country — all of those things make it a great institution and a great community to be a part of.”
