MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Office of Job & Family Services is still “in limbo” with regard to the possible expansion of Medicaid.
Director Matthew Kurtz told the county commissioners on Monday that because the proposed expansion is connected with the state’s budget bill, his department has received only very sketchy information as to how or if Knox County will be affected. He said JFS is doing all it can to prepare for the potentially “huge undertaking,” but the lack of specifics at this point means some last-minute actions will need to be taken after the budget bill is passed and signed into law.
Kurtz also said JFS may have to spend some additional money for new signs at Opportunity Knox. HB 1 would change the name from one-stop service centers like Opportunity Knox. The new name for the facility would become “Ohio Means Jobs — Knox County.”
