MOUNT VERNON — Annual funds of $849,280 from the Knox County Senior Levy for 2013 were recently approved by the Knox County Board of Commissioners.
After requests were submitted in February by agencies serving the various communities, the commissioners gave their approval once again to fund the programs provided by each non-profit organization.
The Station Break, serving all of Mount Vernon as well as rural areas of Knox County, received the majority of the funds at $515,583. Sanctuary Community Action of Danville received $147,808 for 2013 with Centerburg Senior Services receiving similar funds of $142,505.
